Achilles were the 2009 DMA Winner

Achilles Sound are from Shaftesbury in deepest darkest Dorset. Probably best known for their rhythm fuelled and multi-instrumental post rock. As a seven piece, primarily instrumental band, Achilles have been hailed for their epic and engrossing live performances. They won the Dorset Unsigned Awards 2009, which garnered national airplay and support from Radio 1's Rob Da Bank and Huw Stephens as well as Radio 6s tom Robinson.

Their 2009 main stage set at Camp Bestival caught the eye of Florence and the Machine's Harpist Tom Monger, which led to a collaborative EP also featuring Alyusha Chagrin of The Boxettes and Shlomo's Vocal Orchestra.

2010 saw them fill a headlining slot at the Saturday night of Endorse It in Dorset Festival. As well as a string of other festivals, including Larmer Tree and the Croissant Neuf Summer Party. In 2011 as well as booking a busy festival season and a european tour, Achilles are set to release a string of singles on Bug Digital and are currently in the studio mixing an EP featuring the fourteen piece Magic Drum Orchestra.
